WSCYC Novice Regatta — Port Orchard (May 9, 2026)

What: WSCYC Novice Regatta — a low-key, beginner-friendly regatta for sailors new to racing or seeking more on-the-water experience. Experienced skippers and crew will be available to assist novices; three classes will be run (Class 3: no spinnakers).

When: Saturday, May 9, 2026 — first warning signal scheduled for 11:00 AM. The race series may include 1–5 short races (minimum one race constitutes a series). No starts will be made after 4:30 PM.

Where: Sinclair Inlet, starting adjacent to the Port Orchard Marina breakwater (Port Orchard Marina, Port Orchard, WA).

Entry & Fee: $15.00 per boat. Register online at the WSCYC event registration page or deliver a hardcopy entry to the race committee prior to the warning signal. Late entries may be accepted at the race committee’s discretion (no later than 30 minutes before the first start).

Notes & Requirements: Racing governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and WSCYC Standard Sailing Instructions for Sinclair Inlet. Boats should monitor VHF Channel 72 for race communications. PHRF-NW rating required or an “off-the-cuff” rating will be assigned if needed. Competitors must carry valid third-party liability insurance.
